If this xr theory that ISU fans love to support their team and winning is essentially an afterthought, they should just kick the whole thing down to the MAC.

As much as I hate the current structure of Division 1/1-AA football, if you're not going to be in it to win the whole shebang, there is no economic justification in continuing to support it. Let the south and some other big "schools" be the overhyped NFL minor league.

I like him.

He actually didn't miss everything badly (other than the lol NC part)

NDSU 35-21 win, actual 34-17 win
Iowa 24-17 (lol, he says blowout) win, actual 3-35 (blowout loss) - that one hurt
Kent 35-11 win, actual 34-14 win
Army 38-7 win, actual 31-10 win
KSU 24-21 win, actual 23-24 loss
BU 35-14 win, actual 24-10 win
Neb 17-16 win, actual 9-7 win
aTm 42-3 win, actual 10-35 loss (that one really hurt)
Okst - he just says win, loss
CU 28-24 win, actual 17-10 win
Mizzu 27-13 win, actual 24-34 loss

He didn't pick the KU game (which ISU lost)
Instead of the national championship, ISU beat Minn in a terrible bowl game. So, he was close there.

He picked 11 wins, ISU won 6. He was very close to the score in the NDSU, Kent, Army, KSU and Neb games and not too far off on Mizzu, BU and (sorta) CU.

ISU is a 17(!!!!) point favorite tomorrow.

Do I do it? Do I bet my money on Kansas?

I'm plenty confident ISU escapes with a win. But 17 is a big old win for them.

Evidently the ames tribune missed the real controversy at isu..lazard and Rhoads not getting along since Rhoads cost lazard the chance to play d1 football...

They only lost by 13 at Rutgers. RU and ISU are fairly even in terribleness.
They gave up over 300 yards rushing and 500 total and only rushed for 64 themselves. The score was closer than the game. If Iowa State loses to Kansas then Sam B Richardson will end his Big 12 career Ofer.

He's only started 63 games, so it's not that surprising that today will be his first conference win as the starter.

After today, he never has to pay for a beer in Ames again and is at least in the conversation as best ISU football player in history, regardless of position.

Watching some of these highlights from today thinking about Chris Williams saying ISU has the best set of WR in the Big 12.

That steps over from absurd to pure insanity. The cofactors that this guy has a job covering the university speaks volumes about the mentality of their fan base.

If Iow had a reporter making comments like that, Hawk fans would eat him alive.

I would be fucking embarrassed to have him representing he school in any shape or form.

"When Beaty arrived in December, he inherited just 42 scholarship players with eligibility remaining in 2015, just less than half of the NCAA’s 85-scholarship limit; based on the current roster, and after accounting for the 2015 recruiting class, the scholarship count heading into the season sits at 68, still nowhere near the cap. Of that number, the vast majority will be in their first or second year on campus: Only 20 of the 74 players signed in the 2011-13 classes remain, leaving the depth chart and the locker room largely devoid of a veteran presence. Not only do the Jayhawks lack the raw talent to compete in the Big 12, but after the attrition that accompanied Weis’s arrival and the subsequent failure of his juco investments, they lack the players."

**Charlie Weis is still getting paid by Notre Dame

What the fuck? They should be suing Weis for malpractice. 42 out of 85 scholarships filled is worse than an NCAA punishment, even 68/85 is as bad as the NCAA punishments.

They hired that fat piece of shit. They shouldn't be able to sue anybody.

You know it's been a tough season in Clown Town when they're measuring it in quarters. Usually it's in plays.

Something is fucked up with that story.

Has 90+ MPH fastball…goes to a D-3 football school w/out a baseball program to be the holder on FGs.

"I just get stoked," Fischer told the Iowa State Daily. "Looking at [kicker Cole Netten] putting it through the uprights, that just adds to it, and being on the field is a pretty amazing feeling in itself."

I'd just like to congratulate ISU on their fine season - they've managed to beat an FCS team on a down year, and quite possibly the worst FBS team ever.

Upswing indeed!
