Iowa State needs the sponsorship money that comes with the game and series. If Iowa is smart, this is when you turn it into something that makes sense. Play every other year, only in Iowa City. Or play 2 out of 4 years.

There has been some talk of a B10/SEC series, in which case Iowa would have to free up that game anyway. I wonder if that possibility isn’t part of the delay.
