I know this is stupid, but I have legitimately thought before that they're just trying to force Logan Jones to happen after Linderbaum was so successful.
Wouldn't be the first time such a thing has happened on the offensive side of the ball.
2002: The jailbreak screen was the shit. They then proceeded to run it into the ground such that, by 2007, teams could pretty much predict when it was coming and adjust accordingly. (Huh, fancy that.)
2011: managed the largest comeback in school history by running a slant and post heavy no huddle against a prevent defense with a QB who set Iowa HS passing records in a slant-based offense. Tried to run the exact same thing the next week, and PSU sat on the slants and held us to three (3) points.
2017: hung 55 on Ohio State in part by throwing 4 TDs to two future all-pro TEs. Every future iteration of the Brian offense became TE-centric in the passing game, to the extent that when a shit CSU team nearly beat us in '21 in part by basically only throwing to TEs, the immediate response was to hire their OC as an analyst after he was fired for being shitty along with the rest of that staff after *one fucking year*.
2022: "We just got done converting a DL into an All-Pro center - obviously that's the recipe. You there, in the DL room, congratulations, you're now our #1 center! This worked before, it'll definitely work again!"
This is a feature, not a bug.
