I just don't think sports work like that. After beating Ohio State 55-24, Iowa gained 66 total yards against Wisconsin the following week.

Indiana is really good, and Iowa's not been competitive against really good teams in awhile. But Illinois looking good this week doesn't really matter.

They boat raced Illinois last week and this team isnt that good. This seemed like a well coached game by and large. Hank isn’t the savior that was promised in week 1. Maybe he’ll be better with time but this game didn’t leave me hating KF

I don't think the playcalling on the missed FG drive was the problem. They got five on first down, stuffed on second down, and the backup QB threw incomplete on 3rd. If Iowa had thrown three times and wound up kicking before a loss everyone would be bitching about leaving too much time.
