“Hey you’re hired, but hold tight, we’re still waiting on the results of that background check.”

It was released in the press that he was hired. Do organizations make press releases on hirings before they do background checks and due diligence?

It is pretty fucking stupid if true.

I’m not sure a Cyclone fan is justified in posting that pic.
Jamie would be out front congratulating himself on being proactive. He is the greatest AD of all time, he would be on the AD Mount Rushmore all by himself.

The fact they threw his name out is absurd. A couple years ago he was a S&C coach for a 1a/2a school, but now he would be a candidate for a big ten football job? JFC
They didn’t “throw out” his name. They said they heard it brought up and didn’t think he would be a good hire.

George O’Leary says yes.

Right, and they thought he was still at Regina. It was basically a ‘here’s a guy people have brought you and we don’t know anything about him’

I still can't stick my tongue out very far and if I do it for long it hurts and get a cramp.

Has always been a ready made excuse to get out of eating you know what. Blessing and a curse.
Probably already covered, but why would you want an excuse to not do that?

It was an informative episode. Seems like Iowa has some pretty good options. The players apparently really liked and respected Welsh and DiMarco- not as friends but as people and guys who can really motivate and know their shit.

Don’t know much about Kanellis other than wasn’t he set to take the wrestling S&C job but decided to return to Regina? I can tell you his dad is salt of the earth. Just a great human being. If Alex is anything like him I’m sure he’d be a great hire as well.
His dad and mom are both wonderful human beings.

Ticket sales for fall "paused" with a June 30 contribution deadline, and Iowa going all-digital with ticketing.

I wouldn't be surprised if we never see paper tickets for a major event again. Maybe you can order a collectible after the fact for some games.
It seems to be going that way.

Last year was our first "paperless" season for the Cubs. They sent us a fake opening day ticket, framed, as a collectible.

The '18 postseason was the first time they went totally paperless for anything, but you could still request a paper ticket. It cost $10 a game, you had to pick them up at the box office, and you had to pay the fee for all games if you wanted paper tickets for any game. They offered free paper tickets as collectibles after the post-season concluded, but I never saw what they looked like.

I have all our season ticket books for our seasons with tickets, and they're kind of cool, but you can't do anything with them. They all sit in their ticket boxes and collect dust. The only ticket I've ever done anything with is the World Series ticket.

My friend has kept all of his paper tickets in binders, which doesn't seem like too big a deal until you know that his current attendance streak sits at about 495 in a row. Ohio State will be 500, except for the disruption of the season with this disease. If a streak since 1978 is broken right before 500 because Minnesota is limiting tickets I may lose my shit.

The collectible-ness of ticket stubs has already been trending in a weird way with stuhub and print at home. Unless you have a season ticket or buy outside the stadium right, there's a good chance your ticket is an unglamouress 8x11 sheet of paper. I have a ticket from the 2015 World Series in some box some where, but it's just a printed sheet of paper. Pic of my dad and I there is my "evidence" of going to one.

I don't miss getting them, I guess is what I mean to say. The NLDS/CS tickets are ugly and stupid, and while the WS tickets at least have a design to them, they're not particularly special.

I do have something cool with the '16 WS ticket though. It's in a set with a stub from the 1908 and 1909 World Series. I'm not a "man cave" guy, but I have a couple pretty cool things like that, and the WS ticket is one of the cooler ones.

I know Hawkeye tattoos can be trashy - but this one looks pretty good.

There's something wrong with that guy's arm. Looks like he snapped his bicep.

I like the tat though.
