This being his first game is my only hope that what I saw Saturday is semi-fixable because it threw off the timing of a lot of plays early on. The missed screen to Williams I think was an example.

Whatever the case may be, Spencer now has the yips and needs to take a break away from football.

More talent for Iowa, but more veteran and cohesive for ISU at the moment. Campbell doesn't seem to let his teams beat the snot out out of each other in camp, and this was yet another Iowa camp with key guys missing time. Hence, it's a mess out of the gate. They're also still inexperienced

Throw in journeyman running backs, a decimated receiver corps and the worst quarterback around and their every failing is magnified.

The lineman who I had expected to see but didn’t was Elsbury. I don’t know if that was due to injury or a coaching decision.
