We’re gonna tailgate in Stella parking lot. Probably won’t buy a ticket. Hope the Hawks win.

I don’t care that receivers were out, OL was bad, etc. You can’t go forward w Petras at this point. I was hopeful he would at least be serviceable but he wasn’t. He missed way too many throws.

And now we have a toxic environment.

I'm very worried that this is going to be a 1998 style meltdown game. Similar Perfect Storm elements, the long winning streak, KF and Brian are basically asking for it. Campbell needs it, although probably not as badly as McCarney did then. Ughhh.......Cyclone fans celebrating and taking over Kinnick in the 4th quarter.

It's still incredibly depressing that the best we can really hope for is winning a nerve rattling, low-scoring close game.

2012? 2007?

Kirk’s pride and ego is going to cost Iowa this game and the streak

The irony of the 2012 and 2007 game parallels….it’s the two seasons Kirk refused to bench the QB everyone knew shouldn’t be starting. Kirk cares more about loyalty to a QB than he does about winning this game

he has NINE losses to Iowa State. That is absolutely insane when you consider the relative success of these two programs in the last 20 some years

No, he doesn’t. Listen, I’m frustrated too but going full retard isn’t helping anything.
He’s lost two games in recent history because he refused to make an obvious QB change. I’m not exactly sure how else you put that

His pride and ego prevent him from making making any of these changes unless he’s absolutely forced to

I’d say it this way: Kirk’s stubbornness and loyalty make him incapable of accurately assessing which QB gives his team the best chance to win. It’s not the first time.
I choose the believe that Kirk is a good man and he values hard work and good human at off the charts levels.

It’s not because he values loyalty over winning. That’s dumb.

It’s because he overvalues certain characteristics in determining what contributes to winning.
I think if you gave Kirk the option of a guaranteed win, but he has to start Padilla or Labas even….he’d chose to roll the dice with Spencer

No one was calling for a benching at the time of the ISU games those years. Jake C was in his first year as a starter and had lit up Syracuse, while JDVD was coming off a decent junior year. The ISU game exposed those guys.

At this point how the fuck could anyone say what Kirk is thinking. He might be completely off his rocker at this point.

Yes it does.
No it doesn't. You're taking a fact pattern (bad decision) and then concluding there's only one explanation (loyalty).

You're then trying to say "Even if it's not loyalty it's just a bad decision that just means it's loyalty." That's nonsensical.

Kirk honestly believes Petras is their best QB and gives them the best chance to win. The real problem is that belief hasn't changed when they've had chances to bring in someone else.

Iowa is going to win. 17-13 or 17-14

D/ST will either score a TD or put the offense in nearly unfuckupable position for one of the scores.

Iowa will have the ball with 2:30 left, run it three times up the gut and punt it and we will have to sweat it out on d.
