I guess when you have an offense that can score led by a quarterback who is more than one dimensional, you’re never really out of it

Maybe. I like what Lester attempts to scheme up. There isn’t a lot of talent to work with. Road game at night, pretty large stadium. I didn’t expect Cade to come out buttfucking people. It’s unfortunate how bad he actually is. This team is headed for 8-4 at best. Sucks.
Lester also likes to adjust his game plan to how they defend each scripted play. The problem was Iowa kept going 3 and out and Michigan State kept going on long sustained drives that took tons of time off the clock.

I guess he could have abandoned the run and tried throwing more but they were likely going 3 and out either way. If we got to halftime and Kaleb Johnson had 5 carries that would have been a little fucked up.

I still can’t get over the fact that Iowa got it to within 1 score 3 different times in the second half and the defense never made a stop.

It’s pretty astonishing that Iowa has managed to have the worst quarterback in college football for 5 straight seasons.
If you look at the odds of one team having the worst quarterback in college football for 5 straight seasons, you're left with only one conclusion: It's intentional.

At least we don't have to discuss the playoffs anymore. We can put that behind us
I appreciate finding the bright side of all this. I’m going to the Wisconsin game, but so t need to have any cares at all. Just enjoy the sport if it, like an elderly person that really understands life, that’ll be good for me.

Lester sucked a big fat cock in the first half.

Remember when MSU got called for holding and it was 2nd and 22 and their receiver ran a simple corner post route but Nick Jackson and Quinn Schulte decided to just cover the hash mark instead on a very crucial drive? That was dumb.

I want Fat Bert back
I can't stomach that. I've turned over a new leaf after watching The Whale, in that I now consider fat people to be actual people and no longer puke my guts out when they pass me on the street.

But they still demonstrate an undeniable lack of discipline, and I would prefer our next head coach have some restraint. And be able to live for at least five years.

Hard disagree. I prefer our next coach have no restraint whatsoever and they are gone in five years to something better

Giving anyone the free rein Kirk enjoyed for the last 20 years will inevitably end in the ruin we’re starting to see now. The only thing that prevents it is a coach with the foresight to hang it up before the game passes him by or things grow horribly stale. Most fail to recognize it given the chance.

I believe Kirk to be a good man, but also a very stubborn one. Big Dick Beth, there is but one choice here.

Impressively disgusting in all 3 phases.

Let’s play for next year now, Kirk, and turn the reigns over to Sullivan and see if he fucking sucks too like every other QB your merry band of retards recruits.

If there were only two teams in college football and the odds of one of them having the shittier QB was 50/50, the odds of one of them having the shittier QB for five years in a row would be 32-1.

There are more than two teams in college football. Hooray.

The new system dictates your season is completely over the second you lose your 3rd game. Iowa just hit that 7 games into the season. Not a single thing the rest of the year actually matters. There is no division championship to chase, no bowl positioning, rankings, nothing. Even the low bar goal of bowl eligibility is now meaningless.

Especially with Iowa's schedule the last 5 games. Every single team other team is also out of it. There is no spoiler role to play. I guess Wisconsin technically isn't out of it yet, but they have to play Penn State, Oregon and others and no chance they don't lose another game.

As a fan of Iowa coached by Kirk Ferentz, the rest of the year will be infuriating watching Cade McNamara butt-fuck around every single game with no chance of him being replaced. We all saw what the future looks like tonight, and the cupboard is pretty bare behind this senior laden team in a new college football world where reloading and buying your team is the key, not player development.

Iowa NIL was having major funding issues before this year started with tons of guys returning and the hope of a playoff spot, so good luck raising the money required to actually compete in a P2 conference. It's going to get worse, most likely a lot worse until somehow the NCAA or a new entity makes it a proper minor league with collective bargaining and contracts.

I'll take the under on this, out of principle.

I am fully confident that Cade McNamara would have a 75+% chance of failing to hit water if he fell off the side of a boat positioned in the middle of the world's largest ocean.

That MFer had a statue-still wide open target, from 7-10 yards away right in front of him, and still somehow managed to fucking throw the ball so off-target that intended receiver had no chance to catch it!!!

How is that even close to being remotely possible!?!?

I just can't fucking believe (I can actually) that Kirk flushed a season with potential like this all because he didn't want to be mean to the hired-gun cripple that had zero investment in the Iowa football program.

It's such an insult to guys like Higgins, Jackson, Castro and others that put their careers on hold to come back.

Iowa would absolutely be 6-1 right now if they had even a mildly competent QB. I will never understand this insane loyalty to a mediocre oft-injured guy that showed up because you had someone cut him a check. How many games do we have to watch where the tv announcers are bewildered that a QB change hasn't been made? Blackledge and Eagle in the first half just going over and over "how can Iowa not make a change at QB here??"

The #1 team in the country got down by a couple scores in the first half at home tonight and they didn't hesitate to put in the backup QB to give the team a spark and attempt to win. If they can do that with a veteran NFL bound guy, why the fuck can't Iowa do that when they have the worst fucking QB in the country for multiple years?

Bringing a bunch of players back pretty much never works out for anyone. Black, Harris and Higgins have been good. Schulte has been terrible. Jackson’s been very meh. Kyler Fischer never made sense to bring back. I don’t even think Nick DeJong played last night. And Cade has sucked.

I also can’t figure out how the second cornerback spot is this bad. It’s Adam Shada bad. MSU attempted maybe 2 passes in Harris’ direction. Phil did nothing to help them out over there either. MSU didn’t even have any big plays. They just gashed Iowa 8 yards at a time.

Was going to admonish about all the ways Iowa sucked last night, especially the lifeless defense. But don't give a shit anymore. Ready for this season to wrap up. Next year looks to be worse based on the talentless backups. Kirk has really fucked us.

My favorite thing was Hall getting pulled for not playing well and then watching Nestor get abused for the next 45 minutes.
The only instance reminiscent of the way that Nestor was abused was when it happened to Hall in his debut.
