Being in LA when the weather is bad is a real bad situation.

i will admit one thing. part of my personality is that things that are funny or amusing to me never get old to me. i can't tell you how many times someone has said to me IRL "uhhh, that was really funny the FIRST time you said it."

one night in ragbrai we had a big time thunder storm. i was in the tent by myself, and my tent started to literally get lifted off the ground. the stakes had come out. so the little high school kids in our Bike World crew were out there, shirtless in the pouring rain and the lightning, pounding the bigger metal stakes into everyone's tents. everyone was freaking out, and parts of the campground were getting evacuated. so i unzipped the back flap on my tent and i started screaming out "batten down the hatches, maties!!"

and these little punks were all like "batten down the what? what's he yelling?" they couldnt even tell where it was coming from. so i just kept yelling it over and over and over again, and each time i did i sank back down in my air mattress just LMAO. i probably yelled it about 30 times at the top of my lungs. and i got told to STFU by elsewhere in the bike world campground several times.

that sort of summarizes what i'm all about.

USC has averaged 38 points a game in the Big 10 at home.

USC gave up a lot of yards rushing to Notre Dame, obviously, Iowa will need to run the ball well.

They have ONE guy with a broom getting the water off the tarp as they remove it.

I remember being at ASU with Scottsdale RIP in 2004 when that deluge came through. It hadn’t rained in months and the metro areas in the SW simply don’t have the storm water infrastructure to drain anything quickly. I feel like we could have gone on a looting spree with the level of panic that had set in from the locals.

then they ran onto the field with an American flag and lightning flashing in the background and we got fucking destroyed

Can't imagine the coliseum has a great state of the art drainage system

Didn’t they end up starting around 11:00 Iowa time? Just brutal game all around.

Andrew Walter and Derek Hagen gave us the full Loog in that one. Walner Belieus saved us from the ultimate embarrassment by returning a punt for a TD with a minute left to avoid the shutout.

Walner Belieus sounds like a guy who should have been parachuting over Normandy with the 101st.

A year earlier we beat them 21-2. Sanders was out. They showed him on the sideline and the announcer said “no, he’s not wearing shoulder pads”.

I saw his only collegiate touchdown.

What a glorious 43-7 (I believe) beat down .
