Sorry Pine, had to rescind the “like” after your edit. I thought RG3 was terrible. Not so much his context but he talked non stop. Sometime (most times) less is more.
That fair. Monster thought so as well. I don’t think I knew he was an announcer, so I thought he was pretty good for being new. Which he may not even be new.

But, let’s not let the insignificance of RGIII’s performance overshadow that impressive effort by the Hawks.

Not sure we learned a lot about the qb situation other than the play calling was completely different. Washington looked completely lost on defense, more than any Iowa opponent I can remember.
100%. Complete opposite of OSU which is why I was complaining that it didn’t appear we tried to win very hard.

Stadium seemed about 2/3rds full and half Iowa fans. Pretty pathetic showing from the Husky faithful.
The Husky Fans next to us were just devastated from the start. Hate their coach. Hate their QB. I can only imagine how the two Husky fans waiting in line for the light rail felt as everyone was chanting “Let’s Go Hawks”. Cool stadium.

The bnth score is amazing with those sax solos that slowly crescendo until something intense happens. Highly recommend just playing it on loop at home. You will get a a lot done during your day.

No sympathy from this quarter. Husky fans have a long history of obnoxiousness. UW had a lot of goodwill in our family because Grandma grew up in Seattle, but they faffed it all up the wall starting with their behavior toward Iowa fans during the 1982 Rose Bowl, and they sealed the deal when I moved the crew back here while UW was winning the 1991 Rose Bowl, and the entire fan base spent the next two years acting like Chosen People ( the super judgmental kind) with Don James as the Second Coming. And oh the outrage when the Huskies got nailed in a recruiting slush fund scandal. How dare the NCAA and Pac-10 accuse the Saints of such a thing? Being up in the Northwest Corner makes it a lot easier to ignore UW, though. The Canadian stations don't care at all.

I am probably missing the obvious, but I have no idea what that means or how to read it (obviously Iowa kicked ass).

Success is basically 5+ yards on first down, cutting distance to down in half on second down, and converting on 3rd down. Success rate is ratio of successful plays to total plays.

They made some great plays in the second half to make the final score look better

Iowa could have named their score in that game and minimum of 70 if they wanted to keep playing.

How would they have rated Jake Christensen?
Hard to say, PFF wasn't around then. Jake played 20 years ago. Though for some it's like yesterday the way they constantly bring him up.

I'm just saying that it's a huge compliment if the best sick burn you can come up with was something that happened 20 years ago. I'm doing pretty well.

There has to be some gold somewhere. I'm thinking HaMo agreed with Fry that Dan McGwire was a better choice over Chuck Hartlieb.

*Frye for @Lee Beevers
I want it known that I was vociferously in the Hartlieb camp.

Speaking of whom, I had thoughts of Chuck Friday night. Chuck and Heck are different and thankfully Heck will never have to do the straight back peddle dropback or the weird facing left dropback, but it reminded me of how Chuck moved the chains, was so good at buying a little time despite not being fast and used whatever arm angle it took to get a pass off. The ball didn't need to spiral to reach the target, and if the pass wasn't right in the hands or on the numbers, guys were able catch 'em anyway. He threw a "little bitty" ball, as Dave Casper or someone once described how Kenny Stabler's passes were easy to catch.

I'd love to have those thoughts evoked again to prove they weren't wishful thinking.

Yes F&B, 39 years ago.

There's a ton of other stuff, too, but your Jake Christensen take is the worst thing that's ever been posted on this board.

We need to all do our part to get past it, but you should never comment on it.

Sit on your hands whenever someone brings it up because you have a tendency to try to defend it, which makes you look even more retarded.

It's been yeeeeears since I've defended it. So once again, you're wrong. But go ahead, get out your ax and dig away, Holmes.
