According to Blair Sanderson of HawkeyeReport.com, Daniels received a second-round grade from the NFL's College Advisory Committee. A second-round pick would command a salary of between $4 million and $7 million over four years. Even a late third-rounder, like Iowa's C.J. Beathard was in 2017, would be in line for upwards of $3 million.

He is a stud and will be a loss, but the way some are freaking out (@jonmiller) is stupid. Iowa will replace him with a good player and the drop off won't be nearly what some think it will be.

Daniels wasn't exactly great this year and was dinged up a good part of the season.

I don't think he was very good this season on the whole but when he is good he's one of the best centers we've had. When he's at 100% his ability to pull and get to the second level is special for a center. I still don't believe that second round grade, especially once teams have a chance to get a better look at his knees, but given his injury history I can't blame him at all for wanting to get paid as soon as he can.

Hard to say what we do at center. Wouldn't be surprised if they bump Render there again and then go with either The Good Paulsen Twin at the other guard spot or bump Kallenberger inside if he keeps improving and looks like one of the five best linemen

I think a bunch of people said it. Jackson being out obviously moved everyone up a spot but he was working with the second team before the bowl game which is good for a true freshman. Jackson followed a similar path. I think if I had to bet right now I'd bet on him seeing time at guard next year. He seems like he's probably one or the five most talented linemen, there isn't an open spot at tackle right now, and they have a history of starting tackles they're high on inside.

If I had to guess I'd say the line next year ultimately settles into something like:

LT: Wirfs
LG: Reynolds
C: Render
RG: Kallenberger
RT: Jackson

With Paulsen rotating in at on of the guard spots
