I still think Frans name pops up in coaching searches this year. Just a gut feeling. Even though he makes it harder on himself than needed, I would still be frustrated with our fanbase. But coaches also tend to live in a bubble and Fran DGAF about many opinions other than his. But it’s just crazy to me all the shit that is talked about him and his family on social media, all because he’s not all “aw shucks” like Kirk or Dr Tom.

Feels a bit like the McDermott situation to me.

McDermott had 4 straight losing seasons, no postseason appearances and no reason to think that might change. Fran has been to 4 of 6 NCAAs (and post season in 7 of the last 8) and should be expected to be in the tournament again next year. Feels a bit different to me.

And I feel like Greg was still better liked by his Fanbase than Fran

Cincinnati is limited offensively and not deep. If we can hit shots and the refs don't allow mugging, good shot. Close to a toss up game.

Tennessee is really good but their defense isn't elite and they only play one guy over 6'7. They can kill is athletically and strength wise, but maybe that's limited!

Then the Sweet 16 matchups....

That's one guy since Marcus Paige when he was in his first year. That's the last thing people should complain about.

I disagree. He was brought in primarily as a guy who was going to upgrade recruiting. Carton is a player at THE key position that we've been lacking since he's been here. IIRC, Carton even played on Patrick's AAU team all these years...& now (unlike Paige who went to a true 'blue blood' program)...he goes to another middling program in conference & we have to see him twice every year.

We'll see. I just see that one as a really big miss.

Aside from the inaccuracies already pointed out....most people don’t understand what an incredible environment Columbus is for student athletes.
