Jaz ran as hard as anyone we’ve seen in a long time, unfortunately it was usually right at players (on his own team and not) rather than getting around them.
This. I hated watching him get the ball

I listened to the postgame radio show and they interviewed Moulton. He seemed very committed and all in for 2026.
Not that it’s impossible that he leaves but it seems like Iowa means a little something more to him.

I've never seen a guy on the verge of breaking more huge runs cut down by a shoelace. I think the only one he ever got was at Iowa State as a freshman.
Part of what I loved…and hated about him; he was 127% all go on every single snap.

part of that feels like a poor transition to the college game where you simply aren’t the biggest/strongest/most athletic guy on the field.

But dude had guts.

He reminded me of Hawkeye basketball legend, JoeT is the 🔑

Just needed to find a little control, and could have been so much better.

But easy to thank them for their service and sincerely wish them well.

Iowa going after all (at least publicly for now) small school player that were overlooked and likely have a chip on their shoulder and have a history of outworking everyone. No targets (yet) from Power 4 schools.

I’d guess Iowa learned a lot from bringing Cade and Gronowski in as hired guns. It goes against everything Iowa is culture wise, but it’s the reality of the sport. Basically if you’re going to pay up, you better be 100% sure the guy is a culture fit. Iowa really should go out and spend big on a couple of guys this year, but you can’t have the guys making the most money being locker room cancers, complaining about a lack of targets, sitting out for minor injuries, etc.

are there still scholarship limits? Is 85 a number that matters? And how many open spots does Iowa have?

I think several - most? - of them have two or three years’ eligibility, too. Most of the 1-year guys don’t have the time to get the trust of the coaches, so I think they’ve been focusing on guys who have time to come in and learn the culture and whatnot.

  • Old System: A hard cap of 85 full scholarships for Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams.
  • New System (Effective 2025-26):
    • Roster Cap: FBS teams now have a maximum roster limit of 105 players.
    • Scholarship Flexibility: Coaches can award scholarships (full or partial) to any player on the roster, up to the roster limit, rather than just 85 full rides

The 2025 schedule was released on December 11 2024. Any idea of when we might actually find out 2026 dates?

It'll never happen but Hughes the RB from Oregon is back in the portal. He would be a stud and day 1 starter.

Was hoping one or more of the Carver visitors would have committed by now.
