Lol.
Sweet baby Jesus.Well, your study refers to the NBA, and it's limited to late game situations, which is certainly not what I'm talking about. It appears that you either didn't play the game, or played for a crappy coach. While I didn't play college ball, I played for a HOF HS coach with 400+ wins. After every single time out we ran a set play that was designed to result in a very high % shot. Our goal was 80% made buckets on those sets. These were plays that we were constantly changing throughout the season so that they were difficult to scout, and therefore difficult to defend. If you know anything about basketball, every team operates this way coming out of a timeout. MSU was nearly flawless last night after time-outs. We were lucky to get a good shot off.lol.
I can't find any documentation, but here is a small study on the NBA, it isn't perfect, as it deals with late game scenarios and professional teams only, but you are just way off. So far off that I doubt you have the mental faculties to feel sufficiently embarrassed.

How many do you have?Whoah, whoah, whoah. I don't think Strat knew he was walking into a debate with a guy who played high school basketball for a coach with four hundred wins. Damn.
BAM!How many do you have?Whoah, whoah, whoah. I don't think Strat knew he was walking into a debate with a guy who played high school basketball for a coach with four hundred wins. Damn.
They've had a couple of D leaguers, too. Durrell Summers to name one. Draymond Green wasn't exactly a typical wing, but he's in the league now, as well, if I recall correctly. Alan Anderson played in the league, but he was Shannon Brown era.The last NBA level wing players Izzo has had were Shannon Brown & Mo Ager. That was mid 2000's. It's not as if Izzo has been churning out lottery picks lately like he was in the early part of his tenure. Harris is a true freshman and Dawson is coming of ACL surgery.
welcome back!!!!!how does playing for a coach with 400 wins compare with being on a good intramural team?
That was a piss poor call. Referees make that call often these days and its awful. A larger man, a stronger man has an advantage when he's backing down a weaker defender. Its a freaking advantage. Now small dudes simply lean on then and then flop. And this is coming from someone who's always the smaller defender. You can't flop in a freakin pick up game - you man up and try not to get manhandled. Now these freaking turds can flop and get a call. POA. Stupid stupid stupid. The refs were lucky I didn't throw a basketball at their face from my seat. The charge call on McCabe was made before McCabe even had the ball. Everyone knew that guy was gonna flop and the ref still made the call.Fran needs to check himself a bit.
Is this the first game you've watched in a couple years? All of those are the norm except for McCabe and Basabe having a good game. It was good to see Basabe looking healthy again. He was big.Just got home from the game.
Woody was really working early in the game on both ends of the floor, that being said I'm not so sure he can dunk. A few missed layups early that should have been dunks but he just seems too fucking scared or something.
Gesell makes some dumb ass passes during crucial times.
Basabe and McCabe played really well on both ends of the floor.
May dribbles and stops to look around at no one open.
Ingram played well, he must not be able to shot at all because he differs everytime he gets the ball.
I thought Clemmons was ok, he seemed to pressure their guards pretty well.
Aaron White just doesn't fucking do anything for stretches on defense. I saw a few MSU possessions where he could have came over on help side but he just stood there and watched. With Marble out, he needs to take it to the rack and get fouled.I will say he was fighting for position and they just wouldn't get it to him a lot of the time.
Oglesby can go fuck himself, hard.
I am tired of this shit. You are tired of this shit. Fuck next year. Get fucking tough and win games. This was the type of agonizing loss that has plagued this program since Alford left. I agree with Fran, no excuses, man up and execute. Play tough. Win the fucking game.Year away, boyz. Subtract May, add Uthoff and Jok.
One play stood out for me last night to this point about plays out of TO's. They ran the clear out play for May that they ran for Marble against Minnesota last year on his thunder dunk. Except May did a pussy finger roll that got swatted. How's that Fran's fault?
uhhhh....They ran the clear out play for May
True. At the same time, that was a frustrating game. With the likeliness of being on the bubble, that game will impact the chances of dancing. Many of you guys have gone full fucking retard. We all knew looking at the schedule that losing the first 3 games was a very realistic possibility, but now people are going off the deep end.
I can't wait either. Can't wait until a few weeks from now when everyone slob knobbing this team after they finally don't play a fucking Top 5 team and get some wins they should have followed by some they shouldn't.
Absolutely. This team is light years better than it was a year ago. We would have been buttfucked in all 3 of these games last year and all of these teams are so superior to anything we faced last year.
Touche. LolOne play stood out for me last night to this point about plays out of TO's. They ran the clear out play for May that they ran for Marble against Minnesota last year on his thunder dunk. That was maddening. Retarded play by Clemmons. Either hard foul, go for a steal/block hard, or get out of the way.At least there was good reason to be a pussy there, dude was coming hard.I hope Fran rewinds a couple times during film the play where Payne drives from the 3 point line and dunks.
(Gayest thing I've ever said?)
What irks me is the break away where Clemmons fucking tapped Appling's (maybe it was someone else) shoe. He fucking guided him to the hoop, didn't attempt to defend, then barely touched him.

a dirty cookie?Hey AZ. Go eat a dirty cookie from Kip, Butch, Tylee, Marv Cook, and Chopsy. And McCarty and Rummells.
It's a West Branch thing.a dirty cookie?Hey AZ. Go eat a dirty cookie from Kip, Butch, Tylee, Marv Cook, and Chopsy. And McCarty and Rummells.

Don't flatter yourself range ballboy.94 is obsESSed with me.

I see a rolling zero. That's what I thought.:rotf:How many do you have?Whoah, whoah, whoah. I don't think Strat knew he was walking into a debate with a guy who played high school basketball for a coach with four hundred wins. Damn.
Pretty much sums it up. Some of the bad rotations/subs have been talked about so much that now that's just the first card to play when everyone sucks offensively. Can't really bitch about the rotations last night, woodbury, gesell and clemmons all played like freshmen. May is just turrible. Our shooter can't shoot. Mccabe and Mel tried to save us but everyone else played like garbage for the most part. Defense was better at least. Lol
We're worse offensively than we were last year (mainly due to Gatens' efficiency) and that was before these last 3 games. This team is light years better than it was a year ago. We would have been buttfucked in all 3 of these games last year and all of these teams are so superior to anything we faced last year.
i'm beginning to think that he may be the spawn of uncle rico and rec gyno, raised by mrs. blp in a world where the black magic of statistics can only be kept at bay by aggressive denial and willful ignorance.jeffpudd needs a tagline that reads Uncle Rico
The bullshit that's getting overlooked is that MSU scored on nearly 100% of them last night.Oh really? You have a link for that?Hell, we can't even get consistent buckets on set plays after a TO. Real teams convert at a 75%+ clip on those opportunities. MSU was near 100% last night.
You're right. I went back to the play by play on ESPN.com and looked it up. I was way off. MSU was 2-6 on shot attempts (one layup, one jumper) + two turnovers coming out with possession after a TO. Iowa was 0-5 on shots (all jump shots or 3 pt. attempts by May twice, White, Oglesby, and McCabe) plus another turnover. I cannot believe we can't get a higher percentage shot coming out of a TO than Eric May jumpers. The bullshit that's getting overlooked is that MSU scored on nearly 100% of them last night.Oh really? Like I said, I was wrong about MSU. I was exactly right about us, though.:rotf::rotf::rotf:Well, your study refers to the NBA, and it's limited to late game situations, which is certainly not what I'm talking about. WowImagine how much AZ would bitch about White if he was black.
I don’t even know what that would have referred to. 11 years ago. Maybe you were too hard on Basabe or Cartwright? Maybe I was drunk?
