Again, there was very real and public pressure to fire Doyle. The former prominent players wanted it. The current players wanted it. The media and even fans wanted it. He was with the program 20+ years and there was no path forward with him.

Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz isn't even on the same planet. First, he has the mildest of a complaint of true problematic comments concerning a tattoo and a face covering. Second, there are no former prominent players calling for his firing or removal. The only people are a couple whiny Iowa beat writers and a couple disgruntled transfer types. Pressure to fire him would have to come from exposing blatant racist accusations against him by the independent review. He also has only been coaching about 7 years and is young. He can be corrected.

I've spoken to him in person multiple times and that isn't my impression at all. He comes off completely fine in person, unlike Farty. He's bang average as an Iowa football reporter, but he has allowed his politics to completely take over his coverage of this issue.
