Called off afternoon work to watch the Hawks and invited two of my newer friends to join me at the bar (NBA guys, not really college fans)

Once it was clear we couldn’t hit a jumpshot and that Richmond was going to play spoiler, there was no sum of money I wouldn’t have paid to disappear those oblivious fucks who came out with me. Nice guys but just wanted to watch the damn game.

Threw a watch party on Jan 1, 2016 and wanted everyone to go home after it was 63-0. Or whatever it was in the 1st quarter.

Fran getting fired is not an option. The question is if Fran should see he's taken this as far as he can take it, declare victory, and take one more job before retirement. If so, now is the time to do it.

As for who, someone that will expect a little more defense and toughness without running a Lick offense. And someone that can bring more higher level, athletic recruits to the program and not be so dependent on finding diamonds in the rough.

I’m not saying you’re not wrong in fact I agree with most of that but unless the athletic department wants to win at all costs it doesn’t matter. Fran will be about as good as we can hope. The next guy will just bring in all the hayseeds and we’ll get good grades and be polite and punctual.

Maybe the most inexplicable part of the game was Keegan’s defense, especially down the stretch. I went back and watched from the point we had a 5 point lead. Obviously we missed a bunch of shots, got tight on offense, etc. And other guys got beat at times or made bad decisions also.

But in comparison to who he’s been, it was just weird. Gambling at bad times and not coming close, falling asleep, bad angles, closing out hard on non-shooters and getting beat off the dribble.

Probably was Perkins’ worst game in a couple months also. Only 1 board, 3 turnovers. We could have survived the bad shooting if any of several consistent strengths had shown up. Everything was bad and we still were in position to win late.

I remember the season where everyone on the team quit except Cully Payne who was out there battling for the criminal in the big ten tournament. Yesterday sucked, but no fucking way am I getting rid of Fran. I have 0% faith that we would replace him with someone better. We just aren't that program.

There is no possible way to prevent it from ever happening. I do think having a team full of better athletes that can compete at both ends, can help increase your chances of winning when shit isn't working. But I mean, if Virginia can get beat by a 16 seed.

I definitely wouldn’t call that loss heartbreaking. 87 elite 8 loss to unlv was heartbreaking and I’m still obsessing over it today, 35 years later. Crazy talented team blows a huge lead and possibly blows the last chance in my lifetime of seeing Iowa in a final 4

this Richmond loss was just a total turd especially since we all thought this was set up to be Iowa’s year to finally return to the sweet 16

My hopes are now sky high, and this should end well.

And by ending well, I mean that Fran’s getting a statue after he leads us to the promised land* (which I do believe he will do).
