ok is this the first such legal battle to arise? I love it. Anything to hurry the current circus to its demise is welcome

There was the guy at Wisconsin who ended up at Miami. Can't remember if they were threatening legal action right away or just not releasing him.

They deserved a much larger chunk of the value they were helping to generate, but the unfettered absence of binding and enforceable commitments is something that cannot abide for long without irreparable brand damage. IMO.

Schools are going to need to sue to enforce deals (and for tortious interference where appropriate), and courts are gonna need to issue proper remedies, both injunctive and monetary against players and schools alike.

I wouldn’t ever say not good. I was expecting all-conference play or close to it and it wasn’t that, imo.
3rd on the team in tackles and Honorable Mention All Big 10, seems like he pretty much nailed your expectation.

If the NCAA members were less dumb about a lot of shit (Drew Ott eligibility, keeping all of the revenue from massive TV deals while expanding schedules, etc) maybe they don’t get their asses pwn3d every time they go to court.

I do not accept or abide by the @Mr. Hawk / @Monster All-Conference standard.

2-3 more picks - or even quite a few more PBUs - and he’d have been there.

the NCAA as a source of enforceable rules is dead and I don’t think there’s any way to resuscitate it. any meaningful enforcement is going to need to be private. I’m not even sure the conferences can do much that matters anymore, at least relative to players’ rights

You idiots spent too many years telling kids who produced millions in value that they should shut up and be thankful for their full ride scholarship. It was easy to say because they had what you wanted and you wanted it bad.

I'd love to change just a couple of words on this and make it political, but out of respect for a sports related thread, I shall refrain.

The players’ sheer talent and skill is why college sports are so economically valuable. Just like how the G-League and MiLB absolutely crush the ratings and make money hand over fist.

I’m being a bit obtuse on purpose, but el oh el.

This guy played at Missouri this year and is part of a lawsuit and countersuit because he signed a contract with Georgia in Dec 2024 and then left days later.

You are one of the most retarded posters on here. Learn how to string a few sentences together coherently before you call anyone else retarded.

Its pretty obvious that Iowa is trying to stick with players in the portal that are young with some good experience and or players at lower levels that excelled and are looking to move up in competition. Not only are they cheaper but they avoid most of the bs involved with players chasing the big pay day.

Honestly pry the best strategy for us. Guys w multiple years left and already shown they can play a bit above the HS level.

Could be a great way to develop better depth overall.

Entringer visiting Texas Tech, Louisville, and West Virginia. Last one seems random.

He appears to be suffering from abject faggotry. Thoughts and prayers for his recovery.
That is an underwhelming list. Has to just be looking for a little bit more than Iowa was paying. Unreal.

2 of those schools have the money he’s looking for. West Virginia….that one doesn’t make sense. Koi Perich just visited Texas Tech as well.

Perich committed to Texas Tech. Unless he gets a bag from Louisville, Entringer made a bad decision.
