Because they're both acting like faggots. Either spill the dramatic beans if what you experienced was so bad or STFU and thank the school for the free education and go about your business.
Oh, I totally agree. I interpreted that like you didn’t want them because of that. I think it is obviously is in poor taste, but if anyone from the portal comes to Iowa and is a contributor I wouldn’t give a fuck if their dad was Kanye West.

When do these portal dudes pick a team or however it works? This is all very exciting and confusing.

Moving forward, how many high school players should teams really bring in in a class? You’re going to end up wasting resources developing 30% of them when they end up hitting the portal.

There would be an argument for only brining in 10 - 12 per year, with the others poached from the portal after you see what they can do at the college level.

Braelon Allen turns 19 after his sophomore season is over. He's about to get paid for a year before leaving for the NFL

I hate all of this.
Try to look at it this way. Imagine that you are a lawyer that is billing $400/hr and that you go to another firm and get to bill $1200/hr for doing the same work. Would you like that?

The signing period starts in 16 days. Almost every single one of these players has to pick a school by then. It is going to be a mad dash to get them to visit this weekend so the moment you see a visit lined up that’s basically the school.

After that it’s going to be like marrying someone after dating them for a month. I would guess 40% of them are back in the portal next year.

This is unacceptable. Dougie said that it would be sorted out with clarity by Sunday or Monday.

Don't forget, this is just Round 1 of this shit. Here is the full schedule of how this all goes down and when....

- Transfer portal opens up on 12/5
- Early signing day for high school kids on 12/21 and lock in your portal guys on the 21st as well.
- Bowl games happen, more enter the transfer portal
- Transfer portal closes on January 18th
- Class of 2023 signing day on February 1st for high school kids
- Transfer portal re-opens in the spring from May 1st - 15th

Basically you have a wild west free for all and you see who you lost and who you got the next couple weeks. Then you try to lock in all of your committed high school recruits on Dec. 21st.

Then you try to pick up what you need in addition to that and see who now wants to leave after the bowl games both to the transfer portal and the NFL and get them locked by Jan. 18th.

Then you have 2 weeks to lock in any remaining high school kids.

Then you move on to spring ball, see who you have that gets pissed off or flakes and wants to leave after that (Charlie Jones types) and do it all over again for the first 2 weeks of May.

Sounds like a blast for coaches.

If Iowa doesn't get Holden I say we kill Doug. Hold him down and I'll trip and fall on him.
Nebrantska fans are convinced Holden is going to Lincoln. They’re also excited about the Clemson QB. I hope they diet on deer meat.

I'm guessing the norm for most college coaches going forward is that they try to completely disconnect from May 16th until mid-July. After that, you get no break until at least the first week of February. Take a 6 week break and then do the spring ball and spring transfer portal.

Rinse. Repeat.

You can see why the NFL lifestyle might appeal a lot more to coaches going forward.

Even the left overs in the portal are a known commodity and won’t require money. If your choice is a random high school receiver from Colorado or a guy that had 22 receptions for 320 yards for Georgia Tech last year, you’ll be better off with the guy from Georgia Tech.

Well high school recruiting and visits can start in June. So they better enjoy Memorial Day weekend.
