I thought you guys were being a little dramatic, but now that I’m watching, I honestly can’t stop staring at his tits. They’re mesmerizing.

Did Barnes used to weigh 400lbs and then went on Ozempic? He’s definitely carrying some extra weight up there. Good candidate for the mansiere.

If Hank Brown doesn’t give them the best chance to win, then he wouldn’t be named the starter. Case closed. End of debate.

This guy is a fucking moron. We most definitely have seen Hank Brown play several very meaningful snaps for Iowa and almost single-handedly lead them to defeat. Why post obvious lies?

Well, yes, he's played meaningful snaps. This guy is a moron. But the Iowa fans who have written him off due to less than a quarter of play against a top 5 defense on the National Championship team are also morons.

I haven't written him off. I merely have concerns. I hope he assuages them.

as long as it isn’t Hank Brown, I’ll be pleased.

unless Jimmy Sullivan looks good and ready to compete, I would hope we’d be portalling mobile depth at minimum
it will be coaching malpractice if we have again have a QB who can’t scoot. pack up your bags and God bless, Hank Brown
I wouldn’t spend a dime on OL - it will be fine. Really need to empty the piggy bank on a big fucker that can play opposite Hawthorne - Pace wasn’t up to the standard. no other gaping holes next year, other than getting a better Plan A/B QB than Hank Brown.
Even if Hecklinski is good, he’s a small and plays with reckless abandon. We need something better than Hank Brown behind him. I’ve seen enough of how that plays out in a game that matters.
He’s immobile and shit his pants. Terrible combo that I have no interest in learning more about.

Hope I'm wrong! Well, I actually hope he doesn't win the job and we never learn if I was wrong. But if he plays, I hope I was wrong!

Lol, me too. But it's pretty clear based on dozens of posts that you have already written him off. I only included a handful. Just wanted it on the record, just in case. 😁

Sure hope it’s the 6’4 auburn transfer and not the 5’11 wake forest transfer

This is so retarded and swung so hard the other way that I'm now team Hank Brown.

I struggle to understand how a world champion wouldn’t just quit the sport
FFS.

I hesitate to do this.....but you do realize no one is saying Ben should quit wrestling, right? If you dig deep, I know you can come up with a solution.

I think yugo and herky were suggesting that
No they weren't. They were lamenting the fact that he is not playing both sports. That he seems to have given up on football. I don't see anyone in the thread suggesting he give up wrestling.

Looks like I need to get off Wade's back. He wasn't the only one who interpreted it that way. But to clarify the situation, Ben came to Iowa to play both sports. He doesn't have to quit one to play the other.

There was almost no chance doing both was ever going to realistically work. He definitely had every intention of doing both but some injuries just killed what little chance he had.

I have to imagine trying to be a linebacker hurt him as a heavyweight as well. He’s always just seemed so much smaller than the top end guys. He’s always looked like he needs another 15 lbs on the mat.

He was 14-9 last year, 4th in the Big Ten, 5th at the NCAAs. If he has another year like that, I could see him trying to give football a shot in his 5th year, especially with Mocco in the wrestling roster now.

He never really gave football a chance is the problem. One year was all and football was never the reason he is a small heavyweight. He's just not built like most heavyweights. He could easily have played DL had he put in more weight. His problem is his ideal weight class doesn't exist. I wouldn't be surprised if Dreshaun Ross has the same experience.

My beef is putting all his eggs in the Brands basket. Those guys are toast.

Without knowing exactly what the football plan was for him, he always spoke of being a linebacker. If that was his goal, it was going to make it really difficult. Defensive line always made more sense to most people.

The grueling nature of both sports on top of them overlapping is just too difficult at the Big Ten level. It’s hard enough for guys trying to do football and baseball.

This worked out perfectly for the Brands, especially under the old rules. They got a top recruit for free. I’m guessing behind the scenes Kirk wasn’t thrilled.
